Prevent someone from turning your smart phone into an invasive tool
How do you detect or prevent someone from turning your smart phone into an invasive tool for them to cyber stalk you?
Remember: your phone can’t be compromised unless someone gets physical access to it (unless its the US government, see here). The best defense against cell phone surveillance is to never let your phone out of your control. If your Significant Other asks to borrow it, make sure you keep an eye on him/her while they’re using it.
The next best best defense against being the target is taking the battery out, which ends the chance of GPS tracking or spy call bug.
Repeat: TAKE THE BATTERY OUT
But you’re still going to have to put the battery back in to make a phone call, and detecting Flexispy PRO-X is problematic.
It has been reported, however, that the target phone may light up for a split second at the beginning or end of the intercepted call, even with so-called “undetectable software”, such as Flexispy. So pay attention to anything unusual with your SmartPhone, like buzz, clicks, or other ambient noises in the background. And if your SmartPhone is lighting up at odd times, something may be amiss.
Of the reputable cell phone surveillance software/service firms, MobileSpy is the easiest to detect. Spy Phone Reviews put it this way:
“Very simply, Mobile Spy is not invisible after installation and relatively easy to find.
On Symbian based handphones Mobile Spy is visible in the location where you would expect to find installed software in the application manager on Symbian based handphones as a SettingsUI file, in the My Documents, Program Files, and in the Windows/Startup folder as primary output from smartphone file on Windows Mobile handphones, and on iPhones it can be found in the Cydia installer application used to install programs on jail broken iPhones.
More importantly any handphone owner can check to see if Mobile Spy is installed on their handphone by keying the secret key sequence *0123456789* that the company openly displays on its website and which is used to access Mobile Spy’s control functions. Keying this control sequence into a handphone will result in the Mobile Spy splash screen appearing on the screen of the target handphone. If you have secretly installed this software on your spouses handphone it is quite likely the result of them detecting Mobile Spy on their handphone, [and] will end up in you rapidly having a steak knife plunged through your heart.”
Keep your eyes open and your steak knives sharp!
